Skydiving in VA in 2018

We are super excited for the upcoming skydiving season! We are closed for the winter and will open back up the second Saturday in February. Starting Feb 10, 2018, we are then open 7 days a week. We then close again for winter on Dec 8th, 2018. In getting ready for our opening date all the equipment has been sent of for a complete inspection. This includes each parachute system and all of our planes. EVERYTHING goes through an meticulous inspection process and repairs are done where needed. We send our skydiving containers to Strong Enterprises where they go thru a 12-point inspection and any repairs are made to have them in perfect working order for Virginia's 2018 skydiving season. All of our airplanes are also sent off for an FAA mandatory annual inspection. This is required by the Federal Government of all aircraft that are used for commercial operations. Most of our staff have been with us for over…

Skydiving Parachutes

We often get questions about the cost and material of the parachutes we use. I thought I would share some basic info about the gear we use for skydiving. Parachute systems vary as much as cars do. There are all different sizes and configurations. They are so varied that it would take a 20 page essay to go into all the details about each type. In this blog I will give our readers a little more info about the parachutes we use to Tandem Skydive in Virginia. With Tandem Skydiving there are two people suspended under the parachute system, the instructor and the customer. Of course with two people there is added weight so the square footage of our canopy is much larger than it would be for a single skydiver. Tandem parachutes are also usually designed to not be as high performance as a single skydivers parachute. Think of a Tandem Parachute flying over Virginia as a large safe…

Skydiving in Virginia’s Fall Season

Ok, now is my favorite time of year to jump from planes!! The Fall Season is an absolutely amazing time to make your Tandem Skydive. The sky is perfectly clear with no Summer Haze, and the leaves are starting to change colors. The view of the horizon is clear and the air is crisp. With the leaves changing colors, many customers actually want to open the parachute at higher altitudes so they have more time to see the scenery. We, of course, leave that up to you... but I highly recommend it. You won't get a better chance to view Virginia's Fall Colors. This is also one of our busiest times of the year, with weekends being the busiest. Make sure you reserve your skydive a few days in advance so you get the exact time you desire. Weekdays of course have more openings available. I have been skydiving for over 20 years and have made jumps all over the…

Skydiving into University of Richmond

No Limits Skydiving is the only Ex-Military owned skydiving School in Virginia. The experience received while working with the military enables our staff to perform many types of skydiving. On September 16, 2017, our company was hired by the University of Richmond to skydive into their football game. We brought the game ball in along with the University Flag to start the game off. University of Richmond is one of Virginia's premier schools located in the state capital. We love performing at events such as these. Being able to show the public skydiving at major sporting events is great for our sport as well as a lot of fun. Jumping from an airplane over the city is quite the experience. Being in free-fall and seeing downtown is a sight to enjoy. We consider it a great honor to be hired to perform at these games. Skydiving into stadiums takes a higher skill level of skydiving called a Pro-rating. To receive…

Skydive for your Birthday!

People decide to jump from a perfectly good airplane for many reasons. I always ask people what made them decide to make the big plunge so to speak. By far the number one answer is their Birthday. There is no better way to celebrate their special day then have an awesome adventure at No Limits Skydiving. This week a young lady came alone for her Tandem Skydive at our West Point location. She said it was for her 40th birthday and she wanted to celebrate her one year of cancer free along with turning a major milestone age. She explained that she has had a rough few years and that the disease of cancer made her open her eyes to making the most of life. She told us she had finally made a trip to South America that she always had wanted. Now she wanted to make a skydive. I love these type of skydives. Being able to share a…
