For many people making that first skydive is a life long dream. I want to give you a few reasons why I think should choose No Limits Skydiving to fulfill that dream.

Skydiving is the most adrenaline packed sport there is. Nothing will excite you more then taking that first step off the plane. After the parachute is open and you take a deep breath, you’ll have a time to realize what you have just accomplished. You’ll have a few minutes to enjoy the view.

Location
The location of the dropzone was specifically chosen to for it’s natural view. The scene under canopy is breathtaking. To the west of the airport there are no man made buildings in sight. The view has all of the natural beauty that Virginia has to offer. Endless miles of rolling green hills and splendor. The sunsets are so amazing that it is hard to take it all in. Being under parachute at No Limits Skydiving, no matter the season, will be a scene you will never forget.

At many dropzones, students can be made to feel like they are being put through an assembly line. At our school you will leave after the jump knowing you just made new friends. As the owner of the school I have over 6,000 jumps with a 100% safety record. I have enjoyed taking a variety of different people on their first skydive. From a person just turning 18, to a 79 year great grandfather last fall. I am personally involved in every jump to making sure you have a fun and safe experience.

Our Staff
All staff members are ex military who have been involved in the skydiving industry for 20 plus years. One of our instructors, Kris Bagwell, has made 13,000 skydives with a 100% safety record. He is one of the funniest instructors and will help to make your skydive an very memorable experience.

No Limits Skydiving manager, Bobby Herman, has been with us for 10 years. He will be there to greet you from the time you arrive, until the time you leave with your jump certificate and video in hand. Bobby makes sure you leave with a big smile on your face.

Facilities
We just built a brand new hanger and student lounge area. We are the only DZ where you can relax in a air conditioned lounge prior to your jump. Bring your family and friends to experience your adventure with you and they have somewhere to relax in comfort. We have a big screen TV in the lounge where you are able to view the video of your skydive. On most Sat nights during the summer we have a bonfires. If you skydived during the weekend feel free to stay for Bobby’s cookout and bonfire. We also offer camping on site. Make a weekend of it if you want. If you have a large group, camp out and make your skydive the next day.

Availability
At No Limits Skydiving we realize people have 40 things going on. Not everybody is free on the weekends. That is why we are open 7 days a week. We are the only Dropzone in the Mid-Atlantic area that is open all week long. All you have to do is call 434-532-6570 and tell us what day you would like to skydive.

Video
“No Limits” is using a new technology that enables us to video your WHOLE skydive. Other schools only video the freefall part of your jump. Our video includes it all!! The getting dressed, plane ride, freefall and the most important part, the parachute ride down. Our video’s capture the ENTIRE parachute ride down. Our videos are 8 to 10 min, where other places are only 4 minutes. Your parachute ride is around 5 min and there is nothing like seeing your smile with the canopy over your head. Makes for a great video!!

I hope I have given you some reasons why I think you should choose us to be a part of your first skydive. If you have any questions please call anytime at 434-532-6570. Either I, or Bobby will answer the phone.

Thank you and hope to talk soon.

Skydiving isn’t a fashion contest. Any clothes that you are comfortable in should be fine. Loose fitting clothes will likely allow you to be more comfortable during your skydive. We provide jumpsuits that cover your clothes. For the ladies, we don’t recommend dresses or skirts. Most people wear shorts and a t-shirt in the warmer months. On cooler days, jeans and a sweatshirt will help keep you warm. If it’s cold, we’ll provide gloves.

Shoes For Skydiving

Sneakers or similar soft soled shoes work best. Sandals, high-heels, flip-flops and other shoes that can easily come off can’t be worn. The shoes must be tight and able to stay on when freefalling at 120 MPH. Shoes or boots with hooks are also not permitted.

Jewelry When Skydiving

It’s best to leave jewelry at home. It could easily be lost during the skydive. If you are wearing jewelry, it’s best to give it to a friend or family member for the jump. Watches cannot be worn during the jump.

Hair and Helmets For Skydiving

We provide helmets for all tandem students. If you have long hair, you should plan on pulling it back or putting it into a pony tail. Some people prefer to tuck their long hair inside their helmets.

Skydiving With Glasses

We provide goggles for all students. The goggles protect your eyes from the wind. If you wear prescription glasses, you can either jump without your glasses, or put our goggles over your glasses. If wear contacts, be sure to tell your instructor so they can be sure the goggles are tight against your face.

If you live in Raleigh, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Durham or any city near there, we would like to help you experience the world of skydiving. Many people experience skydiving for the first time by making a tandem skydive, while others choose the Accelerated Freefall (AFF) training system. Which you choose is up to you. Read the descriptions below and decide which is right for you and give us a call to make a reservation.

Tandem Skydiving

Since the early 80’s, first time jumpers have been experiencing the world of skydiving by making tandem skydives. To make a tandem skydive, a student is paired with a USPA certified instructor. Tandem students are trained in basic skydiving techniques, including body position and parachute deployment. During the plane ride, the instructor connects the student’s harness to theirs. The pair jump together, often with a videographer. The student or the instructor deploys the parachute at a preset altitude. The instructor flies the parachute to the landing area. Read more about tandem parachutes.

Accelerated Freefall (AFF) Skydiving

The Accelerated Freefall, or AFF training method was designed to quickly teach people to become skydivers and canopy pilots. Some people choose to make an AFF jump as their first jump rather than a tandem. The thrill of jumping from a plane and flying your own parachute can’t be matched. During the training program, the student learns additional skills during each jump. For the first AFF jump, two USPA instructors hold onto the student until they deploy their parachute. Each subsequent jump builds on the previous jumps and teaches additional skills. Each student can progress at their own pace, although the USPA requires one jump per 30 days to stay current. If a student starts the AFF program there is not a required number of jumps.

Skydiving Instructors

The staff at No Limits Skydiving have made many thousands of jumps, and have trained countless Tandem and AFF students. We are ready to give you the adventure of your lifetime, and help you experience the thrill of skydiving. If you think you would like to make a skydive, give us a call. We’d be happy to answer questions. If you would like directions or more information about finding the dropzone, click on the city links to the right.

Tandem Parachutes

No Limits Skydiving has chosen the industry leading supplier, and inventor of the Tandem Parachute system as the supplier of our tandem parachutes. Our instructors have years of experience and have made many thousands of jumps with this system.

The first official tandem skydive was made in January 1983 with Ted Strong as the tandem pilot and Ricky Meadows, an employee at Strong Enterprises, the “Student.” Two and a half years later and hundreds of experimental tandem jumps completed resulted in tandem skydiving equipment and procedures reaching an acceptable level of feasibility and, more importantly, safety. In the process, further development produced major equipment innovations and advancements. In 1987, US Patent #4,746,084 was issued to Strong Enterprises for this original and pioneering work on three major tandem concepts. Commitment to development and innovation continues at Strong Enterprises every day in everything we do. We are the parachute company with imagination!

Tandem Parachute Safety

Strong Tandem parachutes have a long safety record. For this reason, we use Strong Tandem parachutes. Our gear is maintained by FAA certified parachute riggers, and is visually inspected before and after each jump to ensure that the parachute and all equipment is in good working order.

If you have questions about our parachutes, please give us a call.
