All of our instructors are certified by the United States Parachute Association and have thousands of skydives.

We have a 100% safety record and only use full time skydivers. Most skydiving schools in Virginia use part time instructors. We only use FULL Time Instructors, this is our career, and passion. When you are from Richmond and your looking for what school to use for your Tandem Skydive, having an instructor who does this full time is important. Other schools use instructors that have other jobs and just teach on weekends part time. After your training we will get you dressed in jumpsuit’s, helmets, goggles and everything you need for your skydive. The plane ride to jump altitude is approximately 20 minutes, then its time to step out into the wild blue yonder. You are firmly attached to your instructor for the entire skydive, there is no safer way to enjoy the adventure of skydiving then making a Tandem Skydive. If you have friends and family from Richmond who want to watch your skydive, bring them with you. They can be right there when you land. No Limits Skydiving takes thousands of people every year on their first skydive, many of these students are from Richmond. Many of our staff live in Richmond VA, so we always love to have people from Richmond, choose us to go Skydiving in Richmond VA.

There are all type of great outdoor activity’s to do in central Virginia. There is no better adventure in Richmond then jumping out a perfectly good airplane. Its hard to beat whizzing pass clouds at 120mph, once you land you kind of feel like James Bond. We also offer a video of your skydive. We video you climbing in the plane, free fall, and even your parachute ride. After the parachute is open we will let you steer for a short time if you want to. It makes a great video with you guiding the parachute in the sky.

It is a great honor for our school to be the one hired to skydive into these events. When they want the best skydivers to perform at their track they hire us, we hope you use us for your skydive also.

The weather in the Richmond area enables us to skydive all year. Of course it does get cold in the winter, but rarely is it to cold to skydive. It gives you plenty of time to look around and enjoy the view, the scenery in Victoria is amazing! To the west of the airport there is not one man made object to be seen. Just miles and miles of rolling hills and green trees. It really is pretty and gives you a view of the world the less adventurous people will never be able to experience. We will even let you steer the parachute for a short time if you would like. If not, just look around and enjoy. If you have family or friends who came to watch you skydive, they will be right there where you land. Even better is if you have a friend who wants to skydive with you. You can wave bye to them as you leave the plane first.

We frequently get asked when is the best time to go tandem skydiving in Virginia? This is difficult to answer because anytime you step out of an airplane is a great time.

Here is Virginia the winter season is not as bad as up north so we are able to still skydive all year. Our busiest time starts in April and goes on thru Nov. With the Winter Months being the slowest. We generally tell everybody you want the temp to be 50 degrees. At that temp you will never even feel cold. We dress students in jumpsuit’s, helmets, goggles and gloves on colder days. We tell our customers to wear what ever clothes they normally would for that day. We are going to put a jumpsuit over them anyway. It keeps your clothes clean and makes you look like a fighter pilot.

Tandem Skydiving in Virginia: When

We start to get really busy in April and even busier starting in June. Saturday’s in the summer are our busiest day’s. Its kind of hard to beat jumping from a perfectly good airplane on a good summer day. One of our locations is in Victoria, Virginia. I like the Fall time there when the leaves changes colors. Our West Point School is a great place in the summer free falling over the rivers.
The temp drops as you get higher up in the sky, so in August when it is 90 degrees on the ground, it is a nice cool temp when you leave the plane. Spring time you can see everything turning to green again, summer time you can see all the boats on the Chesapeake Bay, fall time you can see all the leaves colors, and in the winter you can free fall pass Santa Claus.

There really is no perfect time to make your first skydive. We dress you accordingly to the weather and its always an adventure no matter what time of the year it is. With the adrenaline going thru you when you are skydiving you don’t really realize the temp at all.

With Winter being a slow time, by April I’m always ready to get back in the air and get busy skydiving. Our staff jumps into the Richmond NASCAR Race in April with the American Flag, so that is always a great time.

I find the best time to go tandem skydiving in Virginia is when they finally ready for something different. Break out of the normal, call us at 434-532-6570 to make your reservation and come make a Tandem Skydive.

Skydiving started in West Point Virginia in 1962. The airport in West Point is called Middle Peninsula Regional Airport and was built in the 1940′s. It was first used to train Military Pilots for World War II. Now it it used for General Aviation, with all types of aircraft using the facility’s. Skydiving in West Point has been going on longer then any other skydiving location. It is one of the country’s oldest civilian skydiving locations. Come be a part of history and make your skydive at No Limits Skydiving West Point.

We are open 7 days a week at both of our locations so even if you want to make your jump on a Monday we will make that happen. When you come to skydive at West Point you will come to our office first, which is located right beside the airport. Here you will fill out paperwork, then go thru a short training session. Your training session will mostly consist of us showing you what is going to happen during your Tandem Skydive. Your main job is to keep your eyes open and have a great time while you skydive with a certified Tandem Instructor.

We will then get you dressed in skydiving jumpsuit, harness, helmet and goggles. With your gear on, and looking like you are part of Top Gun, we will make the short 2 minute ride to the airplane. We will play some very awesome skydiving music for your short ride to the airplane. Now we will all feel like astronauts as we leave the van and walk to the waiting aircraft.

Once we take off you will see why West Point has been choice of skydivers in Virginia for over 50 years. The view here is simply amazing. Right off the runway you will see where 2 rivers join to form the Yorktown River. These 2 rivers are the Mattaponi, and the Pamunkey. They join together and form the Yorktown River. The Yorktown then runs into the Chesapeake Bay, which you can easily see during the plane ride and free fall. With all this water around, it really makes for an amazing skydive. I like it best when the sun is either rising or setting. It strikes the water a certain way and makes great reflections off the water. In the morning the sun reflects off the Chesapeake Bay, and at sunset it reflects off the Yorktown River.

The Winds are predominately out of the west so the majority of the time we jump from the plane right over the Yorktown River. I like on Saturdays when the river is full of boats. I always imagine what the people on boats must think when they look up and see parachutes floating above them.

We land right back at Middle Peninsula Regional Airport where your friends and family can be there to watch you land and take pictures. After the jump we gather all of our gear up and climb back in the van and head back to the office. The office is only 500 yards away from where the plane is parked or the distance of 5 football fields. Once back at the office we will get you out of your gear and in the summer you will get a free popsickle. Every adventurer deserves a treat. We will be getting your video ready, and that will take about 15 minutes after your jump. You will leave that day with your First Jump Certificate, and your video. More importantly, you will leave knowing you are part the skydiving community of No Limits Skydiving. Now you should go home and watch the movie Point Break. You will understand it better now that you have skydived.

After your Tandem Skydive stop into the town of West Point and grab something to eat. There are many great places fro lunch or dinner.

No Limits Skydiving has 2 tandem skydiving locations in Virginia. We are located in West Point and Victoria, Virginia. Both of our locations were chosen for their natural beauty. We spent almost a year flying over different airports in Virginia, trying to find the one’s with the best views. We flew over them during all 4 seasons to get a idea what our Tandem Students would see during their skydive. Most people will only make one skydive in their entire life so we wanted to make sure we chose the very best airports to skydive over. When we flew over the airport in Victoria during the fall time, we knew we found a perfect spot. On the west side of the airport there is nothing man made to be seen. For miles and miles there are just rolling hills until you reach the mountains. It is hard to put into words how pretty the view is in the fall. Imagine the view of miles and miles of the trees with their fall colors. It is so pretty we even have student ask to open the parachute higher so they have more time to look at the view. Anytime of the year is great to tandem skydive in Victoria, but I do like the Fall the best. To the west their is miles of rolling trees and to the south you can see Lake Gaston. Seeing the lake in the Summer Time is also a great view.

The airport in Victoria is called Lunenburg County Airport. Our Victoria location is close to Richmond, Charlottesville, Roanoke, and Lynchburg, Virginia. We are also to to Raleigh, North Carolina. We know alot of people do not work regular hours, so we make sure we are available when you are ready to make your Tandem Skydive in Virginia.

When you get to the airport you will see a big hanger with “No Limits Skydiving” on the side. Park your car in the parking lot and walk over to the hanger. Once there you will find a a Tandem Skydiving School that has been created just for our customers. We are the only Skydiving School in Virginia that specializes in Tandem and First Time Skydives. Attached to the plane hanger is a house for our customers. It has a large lounge area with a large screen TV to watch your video. Our place has Air condition and heat depending on the time of year. This way you can relax in comfort as you fill out paper work and receive your training. We have done everything possible to make sure you and your friends have a great time making your tandem skydive. We have a pool table, Foosball table and horse shoe pit to use while waiting your turn to skydive. We are the only skydiving school to have on site camping available at no extra cost for our Tandem Skydiving Students. Make a weekend of it. Camp out on Friday night, and wake up Saturday and make your Tandem Skydive. We have a few college groups that come to camp and skydive every year.

We are the only tandem skydiving School in Virginia to only allow Tandem and First Time Skydivers. We do not allow Licensed skydivers to jump at our facility’s. Licensed Skydivers are regular skydivers that come and skydive by themselves. Other schools have so many regular skydivers that Tandem Students and their family can get lost in the crowd. Imagine pulling into a parking lot and there are so many regular skydivers that you don’t even know where to check in. At No Limits Skydiving we only have Tandem Students so we can put all our efforts on you. We have a manifester who is there waiting on you to arrive and is beside you the whole time making sure you are taken care of. If you need anything or have questions they are there to assist you. If you have family members who want to come cheer you on please bring them. They can be right there and watch you land. So please bring your friends and have them share in your adventure while you make you first skydive.

Lunenburg County has two towns, Victoria and Kenbridge. Both of them are small Virginia Towns, and have their charms. Once you have finished making your Tandem Skydive, stop by one of the local restaurants and grab a bite to eat. Let them know you just made your first skydive with No Limits Skydiving.

We hope to see you at either of our tandem skydiving locations in Virginia. Call today to make your reservation. 434-532-6570

Sky diving is a very general term for the sport of jump out of an airplane. There are many different types of skydiving. Of course, all of them involve jumping from a perfectly good airplane. There is Military Skydiving and Civilian Skydiving. Many skydivers got their start jumping while in the military and continued jumping once they finished their service. Sky diving involves jumping or “diving” from an airplane, free falling for a determined amount of time, and opening a parachute and flying the parachute to land safely.

What Is Military Skydiving

The first military use of parachutes were used by artillery detectors riding in observation balloons. They would jump from the balloons when they were damaged by enemy fire. Of course, the military use of sky diving has advanced a long way since 1912. Most people associate military sky diving with the special forces and H.A.L.O. jumps. H.A.L.O. stands for High Opening Low Opening. In a typical HALO sky dive, the military personnel will jump from an aircraft at a high enough altitude to require supplemental oxygen use. By deploying the parachute at a low altitude, it enables them to avoid radar, and being spotted by enemy personnel. This allows for a stealthy insertion by military personnel and helps them to complete their mission.

What Is Tandem Skydiving

Tandem sky diving is where two people are attached together with a specially designed harness system capable of supporting two people. Tandem sky diving has become the most popular method for people to make their first sky dive. By being attached to a experienced skydiver, almost anyone can make a skydive with minimal training. The usual altitude for a tandem sky dive is between 10,000 and 14,000 feet. The attached pair will free fall between 45 to 55 seconds, when reaching an altitude of 5,000 feet, the instructor will deploy the main parachute. The parachute ride will be controlled by the instructor, for the 5 minutes flight to the ground. Tandem sky diving is the best way to make a first sky dive, and to learn how to sky dive. Making your first sky dive with a experienced instructor greatly enhances the students learning. Being able to watch first hand as the instructors guides the parachute to a safe landing will help the student learn how to fly on his own. (see Wikipedia for more information about tandem skydiving.)

What Is Demonstration Skydiving

Demonstration skydiving, or “demos” for short, is where a highly skilled sky diving team performs a sky diving show for an audience. Sporting events such as NASCAR, MLB, and College Football, use skydivers to bring in the American Flag to start the event. There are military demo teams and a few civilian teams that perform for sporting events around the country. The Golden Knights are a very well known military team. They perform at many events around the country to help with recruiting efforts of the United States Army. One of the better know civilian demonstration skydiving teams is Aerial Adventures Inc. They perform at many NASCAR Races including the race at Richmond International Speedway.

The members of demo teams are very highly qualified skydivers. The best of the best. They will fly in a large American flags, game balls, and smoke as they land on a certain spot at a certain time. Landing in a stadium during the National Anthem is made more difficult due to the smaller landing area most regular skydivers are use to. Most demo teams will jump from an altitude of around 5,000 feet. This enables the audience to see them as they leave the aircraft. Any higher and it would be difficult for people to see them in free fall. They will open their parachute at 3,000 feet. High enough altitude to allow time for American flags and smoke to be safely deployed. They will then land at a certain time during the National Anthem.

What Is Free Flying Skydiving

Most traditional sky dives involve falling while belly to earth or free falling with your stomach facing the ground. A new way of enjoying the sky has started to take hold in the skydiving community. This method is called Free Flying. It was created by a skydiver named Olav Zipser in the late 1980′s and involves sky diving in an vertical position such as feet or head first. Any position or angle, except in a belly to earth body position.

Free Flying involves a higher rate of decent due to less body service being exposed to air friction. Average speeds while regular sky diving is around 120 mph. In Free Flying the jump will reach speed of approximately 160 mph or more. Before deploying their parachute a free flyer must return to a belly position to slow their rate of decent. Opening a parachute at the speed of 160 mph is highly dangerous. The skydiving community is split between the different types of disciplines. Around half still sky dive the traditional way of belly flying while the newer generation prefer the free flying style. Sky divers of both styles get together to perform a sky dive called a Hybrid Dive. This involves sky divers of both methods sky diving together. The free flyers will hold onto the belly flyers during free fall so they can fly together.

What Is Skydiving?

There are so many different styles of sky diving that the answer to “what is Sky diving?” isn’t a simple answer. In general, it’s you jumping from an airplane and having fun. No matter what method you decide is the best for you, grab a friend and make your first sky dive. Sign up with a local drop zone and make a tandem sky dive to get your first experience of jumping from a perfectly good airplane.

If you live in Virginia or North Carolina, call No Limits Skydiving at 434-532-6570 to make your reservation today. If you aren’t in VA/NC, find some where to make your first jump or you’re 1,000th!

Skydiving is fun and a great thrill but with a little advice it can be event better. Here are some tandem skydiving tips before making a tandem skydive.

Tandem Skydiving Tips: All Skydiving Schools Are Not the Same

Making a tandem skydive is a once in a lifetime adventure for most people. You want to make sure you choose the Skydiving School that best fits you. You’ll probably be wonder is skydiving safe? When calling around to various drop zones you should ask is about their safety record. You should also ask about their facilities and what services they provide. With safety being everyone’s top concern, make sure you choose drop zone that is an United States Parachute Association Member. Drop zones that are members of the U.S.P.A. have agreed to follow certain safety standards. No Limits Skydiving is a member of the U.S.P.A. and we have a 100% safety record. Do not hesitate to ask the drop zone their safety record!

Tandem Skydiving Tips: Skydiving Location

If you are skydiving for one time in your life, choose an area that will give you a great view. We searched all over Virginia to pick our locations. Our location in West Point is over 3 rivers. You also have an amazing view of the Chesapeake Bay. People frequently ask what time of day is best to skydive. Its hard to beat a sunset skydive with the sun setting over the Yorktown River and the Chesapeake Bay on the side.

Our Victoria location has the mountains on the west and Lake Gaston to the south. In the Fall time the best view is skydiving in Victoria. There is not one man made object on the western side, just miles and miles of rolling hills. When the leaves start to change colors there is no better view than our Victoria drop zone.

Of course how far of a drive is a major concern to all customers. We have 2 locations in Virginia so we are close to every major area. West Point is close to Virginia Beach, Richmond, Hampton Roads, and Northern VA. Our Victoria school is close to Richmond, Charlottesville, Roanoke, and Lynchburg, VA. It is also very close to Raleigh, NC. Choose your favorite view for your tandem skydive.

Tandem Skydiving Tips: Skydiving Video

Everyone who makes a jump wants to remember it. There’s no better way to remember your jump than to have it recorded. When the door opens things happen so fast. Wind is rushing, clouds whizzing pass you, so much going on some people can get sensory overload. You will be in the car on the way home thinking over and over how cool your skydive was. Now imagine being at home two weeks later and being able to relive your skydive over and over by watching the video. We record the entire adventure. We record you getting ready, walking to the plane, the jump and we even record you under parachute. We allow you to steer the parachute for a few minutes if you want to. The video of you steering the parachute will be something you will always want to watch. We want everyone to relive their skydive with a video, that is why we have kept our prices the lowest in the area. Every other school charges $100 for video while we charge $60. Our video captures the entire skydive by using a Handi-Cam video attached to the instructor. This way we can even record you under parachute. Other drop zones that don’t use Handi-cam and only video the free fall that last a minute. Then your video ends. They can not record the parachute ride. We record everything. Make sure you get the video so you are able to relive the experience time and time again!!

Tandem Skydiving Tips: Eating Before Skydiving?

The short answer to this is yes! There is no reason to go crazy and hit the buffet at the Golden Corral but do eat something before your jump. If your hungry on the way to the airport then eat. If your not hungry, then don’t eat. A light meal is fine before you skydive, but the point is, don’t go crazy with a lot of food.

Tandem Skydiving Tips: Fear of Heights

This is a great reason to make a tandem skydive. Never let a fear control your actions in life, conquer your fear but skydiving. We have many students who say they have a fear of heights and are skydiving to help them control that fear. Skydiving is a little bit different though. Many skydivers can jump all day from planes but a scared to stand on the roof of a house. It is a different feeling when you are so high in the sky then being 10 feet on a ladder. I do know that many people who have a fear of heights will make a jump. It is even more of an accomplishment to skydive when you are scared of heights. Lets us help you overcome that fear by skydiving with No Limits Skydiving. Reserve your skydive by calling 434-532-6570.

The vast majority of people making their first skydive, do so by doing a tandem skydive. Some skydiving schools allow you to do another type of first jump, called Accelerated Free Fall or A.F.F. for short.

No Limits Skydiving requires you to make a tandem skydive for your first jump. Tandem skydiving is a great adventure, but our first responsibility is your safety. Making a tandem skydive before any other type of skydiving training greatly helps anyone who wants to become a licensed skydiver.

With an A.F.F. skydive, the student must sit thru a 6 hour class where they will learn everything from how to sit in the airplane to landing the parachute. The training usually last most of the day depending on how quickly the student understands what is being taught. The student must learn many factors of their first skydive, including how to recognize a malfunctioning parachute and most importantly how to safely land. At the end of the class a student must pass a United States Parachute Association written test. Even with this training the student will not skydive alone. They will have instructors holding onto them during free fall. Once their parachute opens then the student is alone. Guiding their parachute to a safe landing.

First Skydive Experience

Most people are not wanting to become skydivers but are looking to make one skydive to see what it feels like. Tandem skydives are by far the fastest and the safest way to make your first jump. Your training for a tandem skydive is around 20 minutes. During this training we will show you everything that will take place during the skydive. Relaxing and have a great adventure is the most important part. Yes… RELAX!! You are attached to a certified instructor with thousands of skydives. They will take care and guide you thru the entire skydive.

When walking to the open door of an airplane, you never know how a person will respond. The majority of first time skydivers do a great job. They are smiling, laughing and their eyes are big as saucers as they take it all in. There are times when students close their eyes the whole time and pretend they are at home on the couch and not in free fall. It is for this reason that No Limits Skydiving requires all students to make a tandem skydive on their first skydive. We want to see how you react before allowing you to advance further. Even if you make your first jump somewhere else, make your first jump a tandem skydive. Knowing you are with a highly trained instructor allows you to relax and take more of the skydive in. It’s important to get acquainted with the sensation of free fall and jumping from a perfectly good airplane. It will greatly help your learning curve. When under parachute the instructor can give you first hand knowledge on steering a parachute and landing. This is an experience that you could never receive by sitting in the classroom. A tandem skydive is by far the safest, and easiest way to learn how to skydive.

No matter if you are making only one skydive or you want to earn your skydiving license. Tandem skydiving is the preferred method to make your first skydive. It is safer and has a much better learning curve than A.F.F. skydiving. Contact us today at 434-532-6570 if you have any questions or to schedule your tandem skydive.

How do you put a cost on Adventure? This question is more important that simply how much does skydiving cost. When you go skydiving, you are buying a memory that will last a lift time.

At No Limits SKydiving, we have put a cost on tandem skydiving, and its the lowest priced tandem jump in Virginia and North Carolina. The average cost of a tandem skydive in this area, is $250. To make a tandem skydive at No Limits, it’s only $215. See our complete list of No Limits Skydiving prices. There is nothing cheap about jumping from an airplane, from the gear, to the plane, to the cost of qualified Instructors, everything is costly. With safety being the main priority, there is no cutting corners when it comes to skydiving. No Limits Skydiving has a 100% safety record. We have done a few things to be able to offer tandem skydives at a lower price then our competitors.

Why Our Tandem Skydiving Cost is Lower
1. We are open 7 days a week. Most skydiving schools are only open on weekends, or a few days a week. We are taking people on tandem skydives every day. Since we are open more often, we are able to take more customers for a jump. This enables us to spread the overhead cost between more people. Giving you a lower cost for your skydive.

2. We only offer tandem skydives and only serve first people making their first skydive. Every other skydiving school has many licensed skydivers jumping at their facilities. Licensed skydivers are people who are experienced just for fun jumpers. They come out to skydive with their friends and hang out on the weekends at the skydiving school. It can be a little over whelming for you and your friends to come make a tandem skydive and have so many people there. Especially if you bring your family to come watch. You can get lost in the shuffle. The skydiving schools that allow licensed jumpers to skydive at their location, also has to spend money to keep them happy. They have to provide them with a seat on the plane, a place to relax after their jump, and pay for equipment for them to use. This all cost them money and makes your tandem skydive more costly. No Limits Skydiving is 100% for you, your family and friends. Our entire place is dedicated to make sure you have a great time. We have large flat screen TV’s to watch the video of your skydive when finished. By concentrating on tandem skydives, we are able to spend our money on you, not licensed skydivers. This keeps overhead cost lower so the skydiving cost of your tandem skydive is lower.

3. We offer discounts.
We offer discounts for military, groups of 4 or more and the week of your birthday. Call us at 434-532-6570 to get quotes.

Additional skydiving costs

Some random cost associated with Tandem Skydiving. All skydiving schools are regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration. They set rules on aircraft safety and inspections that every company must follow. All of our planes go thru a complete inspection every 100 hours. There is no set cost with inspections but the usual fee for inspectors is $75 an hour. Our tandem parachute rigs are bought from a company called Strong Enterprises. The cost of one Tandem Rig Parachute System is $12,000.
Every Tandem Rig must be inspected every 6 months. This cost is usually around $100 for a Master Rigger to do a complete inspection. Fuel prices are another big overhead cost for drop zone owners. The cost of fuel has increased in the last few years. A gallon of AV Gas for aircraft is around $5.25.
